Academic Bowl: The Ridgeview Academic Team will begin meeting on Wednesday, October 5th from 3:40 to 4:40 in Mrs. Baer’s classroom, room 716. Anybody interested in participating is welcome to attend. If you enjoy fierce competition, a chance to sharpen your intellectual skills, and prepare for Olympics (it’s never too soon to practice) then join us to learn more. See Mrs. Baer if you have any questions.

Chess Club: Chess club will meet on Thursdays from 3:45 to 4:45pm in Mr. Pierre’s classroom (606).
Ridgeview Honor Chorus: The Ridgeview Honor Chorus meets once a week on Thursdays after school from 3:45-4:40 PM. Honor Chorus is an upper-level choral experience for students who desire a greater challenge in music than the daily Chorus class. Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students audition in Chorus class to be a member of this group. The Honor Chorus travels locally to sing at conventions, at the elementary schools, and for other events, as opportunities arise.
Ridgeview Singers: Ridgeview Singers, usually composed of 8th graders, is a small group of singers from the Honor Chorus. Last year the Ridgeview Singers performed at six local senior adult homes in our community. Also, the group sings for special performance opportunities, such as the ground-breaking ceremony for Ridgeview Charter School.
Spring Musical Theater Show: Ridgeview Charter School presents an annual spring musical theater show. Their performances are unequaled for the middle school level. Any Ridgeview student may be involved in the show—as crew members (backstage, lighting, tickets, sound, costume, set, etc.) or cast members. Auditions and applications for the show are available in December. The show performances are in March or April. Previous shows that Ridgeview has presented are: Once Upon a Mattress, Thoroughly Modern Millie, High School Musical, Oklahoma, Cinderella, The King and I, Bye-Bye Birdie, Peter Pan, The Sound of Music, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Meet Me in St. Louis, Annie, and Into the Woods. The 2011 show was The Sound of Music with performances on April 14-17, 2010.
Drama Club, Ridgeview Players: Auditions for the fall play, “The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza,” are coming up soon. To try out, you will need to stay after school on either Wednesday, August 31 or Thursday, September 1. Permission forms may be picked up from Mr. Harbour in room 250. All students are welcome to audition.

Green Panthers: Ridgeview is working with support from the Keep Sandy Spring Beautiful organization which provided our school with recycling bins that accept plastic, cans, cardboard and paper. These bins are in each classroom and throughout the school for the convenience of our students and staff. Student volunteers, our Green Panthers, collect and empty the bins on a regular basis. This effort will result in a positive environmental impact ON our school as well as creating student advocates for recycling and sustainable practices.Mr. Lebreton, Ms. Stewart, Ms. B. Social Studies Fair Club: Ms. Bouboulis Tuesdays from 3:45 – 4:45 with start it on 9/13/11. The purpose of the club is to produce a Social Studies Fair Project based on a question developed by each student group.
